James’ bedroom was dimly lit with a low light broadcasted by the television and also by the laptop screen; his window was covered and no light shone through because he put the window shades down and duct taped them to the sides of the window. He didn’t have much reasoning for it other than not wanting to wake up to a blast of sun shine in his already damaged-enough eyes. His vision was about eighty twenty and he needed glasses for class, driving, and watching movies at the theatre. He tried not to wear them too much because Jayden would pick on him sometimes for wearing them, but regardless, he didn’t really think he looked too hot in them either. They made him look really creepy, he thought, as if he weren’t creepy looking enough. Well, that’s what he thought anyway. He wasn’t really one for feeling all too confident about the way he looked. He always had this idea that maybe someday he’d get a more perfect, muscly body and be a male model for a cool magazine or something. Maybe even a Calvin Klein underwear model – man, what he would do to somehow get himself in that position.
After playing for hours on the Wii in the living room, James got bored and trotted into his bedroom, unsure what to do next. He put a movie in and turned his laptop on, getting dressed in his hello kitty pajama pants and a plain grey hoodie. The pants were black and had hello kitty’s face all over them, as well as some rainbows here and there. James didn’t always dress like this, it was only a weekend-at-home sort of deal and normally he didn’t leave his bedroom when he did. It was like a secret guilty pleasure almost, as well as watching the Disney Channel and watching Disney princess movies. Man, those were his favorites. When he was in other rooms of the house and more out in the open he normally just wore long, plaid pajama pants, neon colored socks, and either a metal band shirt or no shirt at all. In public, it was practically the same thing, just with Vans shoes, skinny jeans and the before mentioned, metal band shirt. There were some occasions where he would walk around as is in his house, and that was when one of his best girlfriends – sawyer –was coming and it was just the two of them.
James grinned to himself as he typed back and forth with said best friend, deciding that they would hang out today. He got up and went for the door, checking out the front window first and seeing a couple of kids that were known for causing trouble in the neighborhood. He cursed at himself and noted that he was being totally pathetic, hiding from a bunch of idiots like this. They didn’t exactly scare him, but he did feel intimidated… which was exactly what the little shits were aiming for. See, he had been minding his own business one day when one of them stopped, looked at him, and started insulting him. They almost made it seem like he was their target. Maybe he was just being paranoid thinking that, but he was convinced. He scurried back into his bedroom and typed back to Sawyer, convincing her to come to him instead. Feeling a sudden success by this, he closed his laptop and turned some lights on in his room. It was fairly clean and had room to mess around in, so he wasn’t too worried about it. He went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth, returning back out and looking down at himself; in doing so, he didn’t see anything wrong with how he appeared.
He picked his guitar up and practiced the latest song that the band was working on because the others were giving him a hard time for not having it down as well as they did. James was a considerably slow learner when it came to the guitar but he eventually got it, and once he did, it turned out great. He was halfway there in the song, he just honestly needed to go over what chords to hit and when. He practiced for a couple of minutes and turned the amp off when he was done, hanging his Les Paul on the rack and heading out to the foyer. He leaned against the wall and kept an eye out the front window, noticing the little beasts departing and going down the street. He truly hated some middle schoolers; they seriously thought they were on top of the world. He couldn’t remember being like that at all; in fact, all he could remember was being a super socially awkward dork when he was in middle school. Man, he sure did not miss those days.

Sawyer was actually leaving the comfort of her home on Saturday afternoon, the time that she usually set aside to specifically lounge around. Friends were certainly invited over to join her in her time of relaxation. It was a bother for Sawyer to have to cut time out of her unwinding period to have to do anything. Anything including tasks that actually involved any amount of effort. Sawyer would groan if her father asked her to make her way out of her bedroom or she had to get up because her stomach was growling with rage due to hunger. The first day of the weekend was practically the only chance that she had to set aside time to do whatever she actually wanted to do. Early in the morning she would have some sort of practice and later in the evening one of her friends would request her presence. People knew better then to try and invade her personal time of relaxation. But obviously they didn't. Jammy had struck up an IM conversation with her, not something out of the usual. He was like her bestest friend and she tended to be in constant conversation with the sweetheart of a guy. It was completely alright that he had started a conversation. IM's weren't something that violated her period of relaxation policy. During her unwind time she usually was curled up under her covers with her laptop precariously placed on the mound that she was cocooned in. Sawyer would spend the day surfing the web with no set purpose in mind. James was begging for her to come over, something that usually excited Sawyer. She loved to spend time with him. But she was in her relaxation period. After a bit of protest Jammy finally convinced the girl to make her way over to his house. He wanted to play pokemon. He had to know that he loved him. She was ending her relaxation time abruptly to come over and give the rest of her day to him. Fuck what other people were going to think when she struggled out of her monstrous truck. Sawyer left the house with her Pikachu pajamas and fit shoved into her Pikachu head slippers, bunny slippers were so overrated. She had even rummaged through the garage until she located a beat up Louisville Slugger. It felt sturdy in her grip when she wandered back inside to find her old block, the first version of the DS. Her father gave her a weird look when he spotted the bat. Sawyer smiled in response then told him that she was heading over to James. Another weird look was directed her way, he knew that she despised doing anything on Saturdays. Sawyer groaned and left the house, almost forgetting to grab her keys on the way out. Her truck was like a mini monster in her eyes. Sawyer had never seen a truck so large before. When she lived with her mom their mean of transportation had been a tiny, compact Ford Taurus. Her father insisted that she needed something that was heavy duty and didn't care when Sawyer told him that it was like a workout to get in the truck. With a bat in her hand it was even more of a challenge to climb into the seat. A little girl, one of Sawyer's neighbors, watched Sawyer get frustrated while she climbed into the truck and giggled manically. Finally she claimed success and clicked her seat belt over her tiny frame. Sawyer couldn't help glaring at the small girl while she backed out of the drive and cruised down the road. The "vicious" tweens were lingering on the road when Sawyer came trucking it down the road. When she was in her huge ass vehicle she felt invincible, like her big hunk of car could take anything out. They all scrambled out of the way when she made a wide turn into James' drive, she didn't even wait for them to start to move. Those twerps said Jammy on edge, Sawyer didn't like that. She was almost sure that she heard a gasp when she made a huge leap out of her truck with the bat in hand. Sawyer didn't give the kids the pleasure of looking back, instead she continued forward looking very childish herself in her pajamas. She let herself through the front door, she was comfortable enough with his family to make herself right at home. Sawyer wandered through the house in the direction of his room. "Jammy! I brought my bat!" she called to him as she made her way towards his room. Sawyer pulled his door open and shuffled over to him in her Pikachu slippers. Her bat dropped onto his bed and she followed after it. Sawyer crawled behind him and wrapped her arms loosely around his neck then dropped her head onto his. "Hey," she giggled to him.
